Syracuse Crunch signs defenseman Tyson Feist and forward Gabriel Dumont

The Syracuse Crunch has signed AHL defenseman Tyson Feist to a one-year contract, general manager Stacy Roest announced today.

Feist, 21, played 65 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL last season, where he served as captain. He had career highs in goals (15) and assists (24). The Dawson Creek, BC native was also tied for third on the team with a plus-25 differential.

The 6-foot-2, 181-pound defenseman played 187 career WHL games with the Rockets, Regina Pats and Spokane Chiefs from 2017-2022, recording 19 goals and 53 assists.

The Syracuse Crunch has signed AHL forward Gabriel Dumont to a two-year contract, general manager Stacy Roest announced today.

“We’re thrilled to have Gabriel with the Crunch for two more seasons,” Roest said. “His competitiveness and team spirit during practices and games are invaluable qualities in the locker room and on the ice. As captain, he plays an important role in leading by example and showing our prospects how to become professionals.

Dumont, 31, played 75 games with the Crunch last season. He tied for first on the team in goals (30) and was second in total points (62). Dumont played four seasons with the Crunch as captain in the 2021-22 and 2018-19 campaigns.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward has played in 629 career AHL games over 13 seasons, tallying 167 goals and 385 points. The native of Degelis, Que., also played 90 career NHL games, registering four goals and nine points to go along with 48 penalty minutes. Dumont played 46 games for the Lightning over two seasons, posting two goals and four points. He set career highs with the Lightning in the 2016-17 season for games played (39), goals (two) and points (four).

Boxing Hall of Fame Updates

The highly anticipated International Boxing Hall of Fame trilogy will take place today at 2:30 p.m. at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino event center. As it takes place today, further updates and photos from the ceremony will be published in Tuesday’s edition.

Thursday’s weekend celebration began with the ceremonial ringing of the bell accompanied by lectures from some of the boxing legends. Friday and Saturday were days filled with so many activities like the first casting and an autograph card show and filled with many more ringside talks from the greatest boxers of the past.

This ceremony will usher in the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 in one huge, colossal event. More updates will come in Tuesday’s edition.
