Cobra Kai Creators Tease A Lot Of Madness In Season 5

Expect Cobra Kai Season 5 is the craziest yet. Last year, fans were treated to not one, but two seasons of the hit series which follows The Karate Kid. Season 3 premiered at the start of the year on January 1, and Season 4 closed the year on December 31. We know Season 5 is already underway, and better yet, it’s already wrapped, although it’s still unclear when the new episodes will premiere on Netflix.

Originally launched on YouTube, Cobra Kai is created by Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg. Speaking to Deadline at the PGA Awards, Hurwitz offered some insight into what fans can expect in the new season. This includes “a lot of madness”, as well as “a lot of karate” and perhaps more familiar faces for fans of the Karate Kid movies. As Hurwitz says:

“Season 4 everyone knew we were headed for a tournament – season 5 nobody knows where we’re headed. Yes, because we have already done so. There is a lot of madness; if you’re a fan of the franchise, maybe some familiar faces will show up, maybe not; there is going to be a lot of karate.

Heald goes on to tease the story in unexpected directions after the shocking ending of the fourth season, in which The Karate Kid Part IIITerry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) helped the “bad guys” win.

“The bad guys won in season 4, so there’s gonna be hell to pay whether there’s more hellfire or retaliation. There’s a lot of people hitting each other, kicking each other foot, but the story will unfold in a new way that no one can predict.
