Historically Inaccurate Movies That Do Better By Dithering

Historically inaccurate movies are great entertainment. Very few historical films remain 100% accurate, which is an inconvenience for history buffs. Some creative and artistic liberties are taken for creative and practical reasons. Some films are better off because they stray from the facts.

1. Space containment

His historical inaccuracy was a bit silly, but an inaccuracy nonetheless. In 1993, Michael Jordan retired from basketball due to burnout and the death of his father. But he returned to the field after 2 years and led the Chicago Bulls to a historic victory. But in the movie, it shows that MJ came back because only his basketball skills could save the Looney Tunes. This fact made the film so interesting and not to be taken seriously.

1. Space Jam: It was an absurd and cheeky movie. He had a vastly simplified explanation of why Michael Jordan came out of retirement. jurassic park

The dinosaurs in this movie were scientifically accurate and approved! This film, however, is not historically accurate now. It is believed that the dinosaurs were feathery and not scaly! However, Jurassic Park 3’s feathered dinosaurs didn’t sit well with audiences. Therefore, when Jurassic Park moved away from the story, it became more entertaining, and when it tried to be correct, it felt like a drag.

The IP man

Bruce Lee was a student of Ip Man (Wing Chun Grandmaster). Ip Man became a renowned martial artist during the most troubled times in the history of China and Hong Kong. The four main Ip Man films chose to prioritize adventure and fantasy over history. This fact made the series an action-packed thrill ride.

The great Escape

Paul Brickhill wrote about the planned mass escape of 250 Allied prisoners of war in his novel, which served as the basis for this film. Unfortunately, it was a historically inaccurate film. First, American POWs were given more prominence. When in reality it was the British prisoners of war who had escaped. Second, identities also had to be changed for security reasons.

The Patriot

It was one of the most inaccurate and worst historical re-enactments of the Revolutionary War. He got some of the key dates wrong and described British atrocities that never happened! The depiction of armies is also poorly managed and inaccurate. It is an epic saga!

The 300

Zack Synder contributed his fictional take on the Greco-Persian Wars. The team prioritized artifice and style over precision and facts. This historically inaccurate film upset many historians and was also banned in countries like Iran, which was very proud of the Persian Wars. Nonetheless, the film was a visual treat.

pirates of the caribbean

This franchise is a fantasy tale about pirates. Again, this is a series of historically inaccurate films! Navies and companies like the East India Company defeated and hijacked pirates long ago. Yet the movies depict the exact opposite! Despite all that, it’s one of the biggest hit series of all time.

Inglourious Basterds

World War II has inspired many fiction films. There are more historically inaccurate films based on World War II than accurate films. Inglourious Basterds is one of those films. But, it was deliberately done like that, Tarantino is a visionary like that. It depicts Quentin Tarantino’s version of the end of the war in Europe. It may not have been historically accurate. But he managed to bring an (almost) cathartic ending to a nightmarish historical event.
