Mazari provides full support to PTF for the organization of the Asian Championships


ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ehsanur Rehman Mazari congratulated the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) for the Asian Championships and assured his full support for the smooth running of the mega-events.

“I also congratulate the National Federation for winning the bid to host the 4th Combaxx Asian Taekwondo Championship in November this year and the 5th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship in 2023. As IPC Minister, I will fully support PTF for the smooth running of this championship and I will be watching this event myself at Liaquat Gymnasium PSB Islamabad. The event will definitely create a milestone in Pakistan sports and surely other federations will follow in the footsteps,” he said. he said while speaking as the main guest at the opening ceremony of the 15th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2022 at Shahbaz Shareef Sports Complex, Rawalpindi late Saturday.

He said it was a pleasure for him to open the Championship. “I am delighted to see the extraordinary arrangements made by Pakistan Taekwondo for this event. Indeed, the Taekwondo Federation has done a lot for the promotion and development of Taekwondo which is a Korean Olympic and National Sport.

The minister said the number of participations of the national taekwondo team in international competitions shows the hard work and dedication of the federation which improves taekwondo in Pakistan.

“I would like to express my gratitude for getting two bronze medals at the recently held 25th Kyorugi Asian Taekwondo Championship in June 2022, South Korea, which is a great achievement of the federation and I’m sure they will succeed as well. during the upcoming South Asian and Islamic Games.” I also briefed the federation stakeholders on the role of the Korean Embassy and the Korean government for their tireless efforts to promote Olympic martial arts.

Mazari also thanked the role played by the district government as well as the media for highlighting the said championship. “My heartfelt wishes go out to all the athletes and I hope they will win laurels for the country and keep the flag of Pakistan high. PTF Waseem Ahmed and other officials were also present on the occasion.
