UFC Vegas 37 ended in chaos as Antony Smith subdued Ryan Spann in the first round. In the main co-event, Ion Cutelaba defeated Devin Clark by unanimous decision. Today we’ll take a look at what’s in store for the winners of UFC Vegas 37.
After his victory by submission, Smith was overcome with emotion and even faced Spann. An emotional “Lionheart” took the microphone in his post-fight interview and said he’s had enough of people saying “Anthony Smith sucks.” With that in mind, he took his shot, saying he wanted to fight Aleksandar Rakic in his next fight. Rakic posted on Twitter after Smith’s victory and said he would be free in December. The rematch makes sense given how Smith has rebounded from his loss to Rakic, and because Smith deserves a top-five fighter in his next fight.
Smith’s Next Fight: Aleksandar Rakic
Ion Cutelaba injured Devin Clark’s teeth in the middle of the fight. A serious Clark went to his corner and decided he needed to have the surgery anyway, that he might as well keep fighting. In the end, Cutelaba won the W.
The Moldovan ended a three-fight winless streak with his win at UFC Vegas 37. Cutelaba proved his sambo to be much stronger than Clark’s fight. Then, Alonzo Menifield’s powerful style would match Cutelaba’s perfectly. Menifield have won two in a row and won their last decision fight against Ed Herman. Cutelaba used his grappling really well in his last fight and if he uses it against Menifield he could very well start another winning streak.
Cutelaba’s Next Fight: Alonzo Menifield
Ariane Lipski ended her two-game losing streak with a decisive victory over Mandy Bohm at UFC Vegas 37. She is 3-4 in the UFC and should look to keep winning and breaking through. way to the classification. She is a 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo and a brown belt in BJJ. Lipski is a blue belt in BJJ and comes from a Muay Thai background. Taekwondo and Muay Thai are always great hitting matches. A fight between Lipski and Aldrich could be a Contender of the Night fight.

Arman Tsarukyan finished Christos Giagos in the first round via TKO. That makes Tsarukyan 4-1 in the UFC and puts him on a four-game winning streak. His only loss in the UFC was a decision loss to Islam Makhachev. Tsarukyan hasn’t even peaked in his career at 24, so he should be looking to get the biggest fight possible and move up the rankings. Gregor Gillespie’s last fight was a TKO victory over Diego Ferreira. Gillespie is ranked number ten in the lightweight division and should be looking to fight a promising player in his next fight. Tsarukyan has excellent grappling and matches Gillespie well.
Tsarukyan’s Next Fight: Gregor Gillespie
Joaquin Buckley knocked out Antonio Arroyo in the third round last weekend. Buckley has knocked out his opponent in 10 of his 13 wins. He’s 3-2 in the UFC and his only losses have been TKO losses to Kevin Holland and Alessio Di Chirico. His UFC wins include Arroyo, Jordan Wright and Impa Kasanganay. Three of his four losses are by knockout, so he would have to fight an attacker in his next fight to prove that he has corrected his weaknesses.
