Pakistani taekwondo team leaves for Tehran to compete in Fajar Open

KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – October 7, 2021): The Pakistani taekwondo team left for Tehran on Thursday to participate in the 31st Fajar Open, 3rd Asian Open and 10th Asian Taekwondo Club Championship.

The six-man squad includes Haroon Khan, Shahzaib, Hamza Saeed, Abu Bakar, Taimoor Saeed and coach Shahzada Muhammad Asif. The national team will train under the supervision of Iranian national coaches for the next 5 days. The athletes will compete in the 10th Asian Taekwondo Club Championship on October 13, 14 and 16 at the Fajar Open and the Asian Open on the 17th.

Pakistan Olympic Association media advisor Asif Azeem, Combaxx Sports General Manager Zubair Macha and Sindh Taekwondo Association officials bid the team farewell at Jinnah International Airport.

On this occasion, Pakistan’s bronze medalist at the 24th Asian Taekwondo Championship in Lebanon Haroon Khan said that we have made all the preparations for these events and will try to stay in victory square.

The Fajar Open experience will prove fruitful for next month’s G-one Championship in Islamabad. All the players are full of national spirit and enthusiasm; will give good results to the nation, said Hamza Saeed. -87 kg athlete Taimoor Saeed said the best players from Asia will take part in the event; taking with us a winning spirit.

Coach Shahzada Asif said our players have trained well for the competitions and will give the best results at their level.

It should be mentioned here that all travel and competition costs and all support were provided by the President of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, Colonel (right) Muhammad Waseem Janjua and the CEO of Combaxx Sports Omar Saeed.
