The New Day defeated Hurt Business in the Main Event of WWE Raw as a red mark delivered another solid night with some great action in the ring.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made the most of their team experience to secure the victory over Bobby Lashley and MVP, while the show as a whole continued to progress towards Money In The Bank and the return of fans LIVE the next week.
Behind the scenes of the show, the WWE Champion revealed he took a vacation after destroying Drew McIntyre and Woods in back-to-back Hell In A Cell matches.
He had a problem with Kofi calling him sweet last week, before promising that Hurt Business would stick to his name in the main event.
Later, The New Day was in high spirits as they promoted their recent honor of being named WWE’s All-Time Best Tag Team.
Kofi noted that he proved anything is possible when he won the WWE Title, and he has vowed to reclaim the crown at MITB.
The main event itself was as great as you would expect from all four men involved, with the MVP making his long-awaited return to the ring.
In the end, Lashley was knocked out by Woods with a clothesline on the steps, and Kingston’s Trouble In Paradise was enough to sideline MVP.
Riddle channels The Karate Kid and 3MB face off as Drew McIntyre takes on Jinder Mahal
The evening kicked off with a revolving door promotion as The Miz and John Morrison skyrocketed the latter’s Money In The Bank prospects.
Soon, Drew McIntyre joined them on Miz TV and spoke about Davy Crockett and the Alamo, before Ricochet stepped out and Riddle finally joined the fray.
The Original Bro climbed onto the latter and said he felt “really high and a little sad”, before Randy Orton and Omos came in to complain about the triple threat last week.
Finally, we got to the first game – a replay of last week’s fantastic Ricochet / JoMo fight – which more than lived up to expectations en route to Morrison for a score victory.
Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Eva Marie and Doudrop scored a big win in an eight-woman team action by beating Nikki ASH, Naomi, Asuka and Alexa Bliss, the latter providing the usual antics.
Earlier than expected, Mansoor faced Mustafa Ali in singles this week after recent behind-the-scenes interactions between the two.
In the end, Ali played the opossum and sucked off his rival, faking a leg injury before winning with a roll-up and suggesting he was right that Mansoor needed an advantage.
Elsewhere, 3MB collided as Jinder Mahal faced off against Drew McIntyre, the latter winning by disqualification when Veer and Shanky attacked – and Mahal stole his former partner’s sword to add insult to injury.
In the tag team ranks, Lucha House Party defeated Mace and T-Bar in a short clash with a slightly bizarre result – although everyone involved had more of an advantage than they showed.
Riddle later sought revenge for AJ Styles’ attack in the opening segment, leading to a fantastic fight with the Original Bro selling his foot injury to perfection.
The Viking Raiders distracted Omos and AJ enough to let Riddle come in with a cumulative victory, which would have landed better without a similar ending sooner, and the countdown.
In a puzzling segment, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley pretended to injure themselves on crutches before coming to blows.
Finally, after some nonsense of the 24/7 title, Jaxson Ryker and R-Truth defeated Cedric Alexander and Elias, the latter refusing to participate.
