Roane School of Isshinryu Wins Big at National Karate Championships | Sports


At the 2022 International Isshin-ryu Karate Association Tournament in Manchester, Tennessee, AJ Hill, Justin Edwards and Parker Branam of the Roane School of Isshin-ryu Karate in Harriman ended the day with big tournament wins.

AJ Hill, a regular competitor on the tournament circuit, won first in open hand kata (forms) and third in weapon kata. Due to his first place in kata, he also participated in the big kata championship for his division and took first place. At the annual evening banquet, AJ was recognized as the 2021 Points Champion for Kata, was voted Outstanding Karate-ka for his division, and the entire Hill family received the Dojo Award for supporting the school.
