In the “Karate Kid III” scene, Silver visits Mr. Miyagi’s house. He finds Daniel and the WWII veteran practicing kata in the backyard. Silver interrupts the practice and claims he traveled from South Korea to make amends for Kreese’s violent behavior.

“My teacher is Kim Sun Young from South Korea… John Kreese of the Cobra Kai dojo was the number one student at our school. The news reached us in Korea just two months ago about what happened last year at the tournament. My teacher apologizes for the dishonorable actions of John Kreese, ”says Silver.

Mr. Miyagi says he “accepts the apology”. Silver then says he went to Encino “to help John regain his balance”, but states that he “arrived too late”. He lies to Miyagi and Daniel by claiming that Kreese is dead.

Thomas Ian Griffith to play Terry Silver in season 4 of “Cobra Kai”

Thomas Ian Griffith will reprise the role of Terry Silver in the upcoming fourth season of “Cobra Kai,” which will be available to stream on Netflix on December 31, 2021. In a July 2021 appearance on the “Cobra Kai Kompanion” podcast, Griffith revealed that he watched “Cobra Kai” before joining the cast. He also shared that he enjoyed the Season 3 flashbacks when it was revealed that Silver was behaving cowardly. He referred to the fact that fans were tricked into believing that Silver was a different character named Ponytail, who ended up dying while serving in Vietnam.

“I love it. I thought it was a great choice. I loved the mistake in [season] 3, you know, when you think Terry Silver is the guy with the ponytail, but then he gets killed, ”the actor shared.

He went on to praise series creators Jon Hurwitz, John Heald and Hayden Schlossberg for including some unexpected storylines on “Cobra Kai”.

“I think what Jon, Josh and Hayden do so well is they always twist him. If you expect something, something else will happen. And it’s just good writing, ”said the 59-year-old.

The show’s creators discussed Terry Silver in an interview in August 2021

During a August 2021 interview with AwardsWatch, Hurwitz, Heald and Schlossberg briefly discussed the role of Silver in season 4 of “Cobra Kai”.

“What we can say about Terry is that 35 years have passed, you know, since we saw him. And we’re going to see a bit of where it landed right now. We’re coming to pick him up today. We can see where he is today. We can see how he’s the same, how he’s different and what his motivations are, you go – I think if you like Terry Silver in the past, he can always let off steam **. He still knows karate. I mean he’s a tough guy, ”Hurwitz said.
