“How quickly can I become a black belt?” “You will earn your seat belts over time …” “I don’t have time.” Which does?! Just enough time to learn how to kick ass! Who’s up for a short film involving these three things: aliens, karate, and women. Yellow Fury Belt marks the actress’ directorial debut Catherine Hugues (seen in Me and Earl and the dying girl and Ambition) and it’s available to watch online through Short of the Week premiere. “What would you do if your beloved boyfriend was horribly killed in an alien attack? The answer is pretty obvious, isn’t it? Learn karate as fast as you can and kick some alien butt!” Yes! Take some! Short stars Melanie Rain as Sofia, joined by Charlotte taschen like Sensei, and Matt Chute like Marc. Poor Mark… This is just a fun short film, with clever editing and entertaining fights. Pretty much just “hey we love karate, let’s do a short movie about it?” Why not! Enjoy.
Thanks to Short of the Week for this launch.
