A duo from Cambusneathen Boxing Club scored victories this weekend as Jamie McCluskey and Brendan Reilly triumphed at the Western District Championships.
McCluskey stopped his opponent from Cleland Miners ABC in the second round after knocking him down with a creaking right hand, but his opponent was saved by the bell and recovered enough to qualify for the second round.
Jamie kept the pressure on and the referee called off the fight.
He now moves on to boxing in the final this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Reilly won a unanimous decision in their quarter-final, against an ABC opponent from Doonhammers in Dumfries.
After a slow start in the first lap, which could have gone either way, Brendan picked up the pace and dominated the second and third laps for a convincing victory.
He will now box his semi-final at the Forgewood Show on Friday and if all goes well he will also move on to boxing in the final to be held at the Holiday Inn in Glasgow on Saturday night.
It has been a busy time for both boxers as they also headed to Fort William the week before to fight on the same bill, again securing two convincing wins.
Scottish champion Reece Muir also boxing on Forgewood against Scottish champion in the weight division below.
The West District Finals will be streamed live on Facebook via JATVraw for anyone wishing to tune in.
